Latest update to 'About' [March 2008]
This blog has been through some ups and downs, losing pagerank and going off-track, regaining pagerank and getting back on track again - and losing it again when PPP posties were slapped by Google...
Originally conceived as a blog to investigate paid to post opportunities, this blog has sought to evolve and change with the times.
Unsurprisingly, it has been proved that PayPerPost is top-dog when it comes to earning cash for blogging, with others valiantly following behind in it's wake. The notable others for me have been blogsvertise and smorty - at least when I regained some pagerank and thus some dignity.
What's all this about pagerank then? I hear you ask.... For those that don't know, pagerank has traditionally been regarded by Google as a good indication of page quality and is based largely on links, backlinks and age of domain amongst other parameters. Most paid to blog schemes use pagerank as an indication of the quality of your blog and that dictates whether you get the juicy high-paying tasks or if you are fighting for scraps under the table.
This blog dropped from a PR2 to a PR1 whilst I was really developing things which proved to be quite a blow. I was honestly hoping to get a pagerank boost, but got just the opposite...
Having been penalised [probably] by Google for amassing back-links too quickly in viral schemes, my pagerank dropped thus limiting earnings via PPP. This caused a drastic re-think and shift of emphasis into blogging competitions for a few months. After all, if I enter enough competitions, I am bound to win something... I was rewarded with a PR4 which dropped to PR0 at the very next round of rankings...
I kept this blog as a blogspot for 12 months so that the experiment to earn online cash can be shown to have been carried out with absolutely no cost on my part - all earnings were pure profit. I spent some of the time when I was not doing a lot of paid posting, redesigning the blog and adding some personal touches. I finally bought munny4hunny.com and have tried to raise the standards of the blog accordingly - part of the reason for this was to see if I could get a new pagerank for the new domain.
I registered a second blog with smorty.com and blogsvertise to boost my earnings, earnings from the second (blogspot) blog will be included in total blog earnings. Each month I will print out the full speadsheet indicating where the money has come from, the earnings date from January 2007.
I have been developing other websites in the meantime - I have a website for converting cassettes into CD's and have developed a new website for webmasters, bloggers and general internet users. Website building and development is something that I intend to be more and more heavily involved in if I can make it pay... I have created a new blog (with no paid posting) called Beckham News, I have created this blog to investigate the relationship between blogs and search engines and may be able to use the results to drive more traffic to other sites in the future.
I just realised that I have missed out one very important 'about' item: why 'Munny4Hunny'? There are several reasons, I wanted something original and quirky - the blog is about getting some extra 'munny' (cash, loot, moolah) to spend on 'hunny' (luxuries, treats). I used the winnie the pooh spelling of honey and then mutated money in the same way. There you go, quite straightforward wasn't it?
